AIBU?

To not be surprised that anyone finding this offensive apparently does not have a sense of humour?

ds has a 'Little Prince' bodysuit! It's the only slogan thing he has - as a rule I detest slogan clothing, but this one was pretty understated and sweet.

sickening

Oh yeah that's side-splitting.

FFS.

"Mummy, what's a porn star?" ...... if you were stupid/thick/sick enough to buy it.

What sort of parent would buy this and think it any way amusing and/or appropriate ?

I remember seeings bibs and babygros in a tourist tat shop at the seaside once. No doubt they were also meant to appeal to parents with a "sense of humour" but these things were for babies and they said "sexy baby". How can you have a sexy baby ? "Sexy" means sexually attractive, or titillating surely ?

This sort of thing makes me so angry.

I can't take anybody seriously who refers to him/herself in the third person - "you can say Francis admits it was a dud" -

I'm not a precious parent in the least but that's crap, not funny, no.

Ooooh. 'Future Porn Star'.

Now where can I buy one of those for my 3 year old innocent?

Just nasty.

I think what's so disgusting about it as well, is that it's making the porn culture so acceptable and mainstream, that you can mention it, display it and snigger about it in the presence of children. And even make a child complicit in it.

Absolutely vile. And obviously the designer is childless.

The best I ever saw was twin boys wearing a t-shirt each with arrows pointing to the side saying "HE DID IT" !!

I thought it was quite fun for adults to look at although the boys were too young to find it amusing !!

Hate those types of slogans - inappropriate for children IMO.

Well I like, what I perceive to be non-harmful slogans.

My daughter is my little princess so I have no problems in puting in her a top with such a slogan.

However I do observe and acknowledge that while little girls get all the cute slogans, such princess and angel etc, little boys are stuck with mokey and monster etc. Which is why I went to great pains to get Cheeky Monkey for both my DS and DD.

I like the ones from Universal best though in line with Cat in the Hat, "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" would love to get those for my two!

However in point of the opening post - I too am without sense of humour when it comes to this particular slogan.

pruni - I do agree about little princess though. It feels unfair because dd would love a teeshirt that said little princess and wouldn't understand the connotations.

The porn one is just WRONG. But I also have a bit of a thing about why we have to have "Little MAN" and "Little Princess". You never see "Little Woman" and "Little Prince".

Personally, I don't want my ds to be a little man just yet; I might let him be a little boy first.

sorry ... I seem to have had a sense of humour bypass on this one.

Why, what's the point, WTF and the like spring to mind.

at "future porn star"

I quite like monkey/dribbler/bottle type outfits actually. And if I see one that says I like icecream then I will buy it for myself.

But no, any sexual references are not on.

What annoys me is the lack of choice when buying low cost clothing - they have silly things written on them and very little choice in interesting colours for boys - it's all blue or beige or khaki green - don't like putting war clothing on a toddler.

LowFatMilkshake · 26/02/2007 09:38

That should be 'talking' not 'taling'

Pruni, we have cheeky monkey for DS and DD - is that beter than little monster?
What am I sayin, DS is in a bodysuit today that say's mummy's little monster - but I sometimes call DD a little toad when she's being cheeky so I hope that in someway balances it

Once saw a t'shirt on a little girl of no more than 2 saying "baby bitch" what parent would do that to thier child.

We have a 'Little Man' t'shirt and a 'Mummy's Princess' etc etc.

But the one's we're taling about here are disguting, obscene and dangerous!
