here's the story ...

a couple live with 2 friends. one night they decide to g out but gf can't afford it. bf still wants to go, bearing in mind it is the first chance of having the house to themselves in ages. at last minute bf offers to pay for gf knowing she isn't ready to go.

should bf have gone out and should gf have been mad for him doing so?
should bf have paid for gf?

There is no right or wrong here. Is up to the bf what he wants to do and the shouldn't be an obligation for him to pay for gf if they have separate finances.

BF should have waited for GF to get ready. Why did he only offer to pay at last minute? To ease his conscience for being an arse & not offering to pay when the night out was first mentioned?

If i was the gf i would have told him long before he got ready that if he was def going i expected him to take me with him, i'd be mightily pissed off if he left me in on my own unless i really fancy an evening in on my own. If he had offered last minute to pay for me i'd have made him wait while i got ready.

But then i'm in a relationship where we share what money we do have (not alot!) so it would also be up to me wether he went out because he would ask if he thought we could afford it.........

If she wanted to go he should have paid, if he couldn't afford to pay or she didn't want to go he should have stayed in with her. simple.
