About neighbours keeping their recycling bins in communal area?

Basically they're keeping them in the corridor...it's a block of 4 flats. The downstairs residents both keep their recycling bins beside the back door...IN the corridor.

The back door is by their main flat doors so very convenient....but they stink!

Towards the end of the week, their food bins are rancid.

I keep mine in my garden...we all have a garden at the back....the downstairs people are both elderly but fit...they could just as easily keep the bins in the communal yard which leads to all our private gardens...but they dont!

The thing is that both sets of neighbours are incredibly fussy about other things such as "No big dustbins in the commnual yard" yet they think it's ok to have these rotten bins in the corridor!

We're leaving soon so I'm just moaning for nothing really but the stench today on collection day is awful!

I had the same issue with my neighbour when I first moved to my flat. I got our HA to deal with it...I was gagging stepping out of my front door. I don't even have a kitchen bin because of how gross bins are, I certainly wasn't about to put up with that smell whenever I wanted to go out.

There is usually a rule about such things in communal halls, usually for fire safety.

Just tell them it is not acceptable and they MUST move them.

If you're leaving you can afford to affront their sensibilities Smile

No that is disgusting. Is there anyone you can report it to?
