So far ive been asked to drop price repeatedly, asked to deliver (despite the fact i cant drive) , asked if i needed to swap for anything and repeatedly told someone can come today waited in to be told they cant come today. Im now waiting on it being picked up and if they dont show i might scream. been called hun a million times. I have the rage.

I've never had strange offers of swaps, that doesn't seem to happen on our local page. People are very cheap though, nothing will sell at more than a third of cost, even if new with tags on.

It is great for getting rid of stuf though.

If it begins with F then I'm probably not too far away.

I'm all for selling something if there is PLENTY of life left in it and it looks half decent but I am constantly surprised by the amount of worn out tat that people want to sell. Just my opinion!

The ones that annoy me are the ones were people ask for an item they need like a as they can't afford one (fair enough, people are often getting rid of ones that are a bit used and not worth selling) but then go on to say it must be in good condition, a certain pricey make, a certain colour etc etc. if you are that hard up then you should be grateful for a highchair in reasonable condition regardless of make and colour (not saying poor people should have to make do with broken grotty stuff)

No, yanbu. Other --begging- requesting posts that grind my gears are ones such as: just got a new flat/house/mansion , I really need a bed/ fridge/ sofa / crockery as I don't have any money to buy them, has anyone got any of these I could have? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Are you local to me likesnowflakesinanocean?!

I found myself nodding along to every point you made. I'm also on a few local free pages (bit like Freecycle) and it amazes me so much the things people ask for, like "I'm desperate for some tea, sugar and coffee pots. But must be red. And I can't collect, you must be able to deliver".

Someone asked for a SilverCross pram as well. And I think it's just plain rude if you're getting something for free, the least you can do is go get it. Or even offer petrol money.

At least I got to use the famous MN "I'm afraid that doesn't work for me."

they are the best messages, want to swap for an armchair and a pizza or some other such crap :) Hope it sells soon its pretty soul destroying to sell a major item really cheap and get offered all sorts of weird stuff in return

Know what you mean. I'm trying to sell my fish tank fairly quickly, so have offered it at a third of its retail value, with loads of extra bits. So far have had an insultingly low offer and the offer of a swap for a locked (nicked probs) iPhone. Great.

its gone :) hate selling on there but its a simple way to reach a lot of people but glad it went to someone who really needed it. It does drive me insane though ive waited in all day for people before who just disappear rather than say sorry i dont want it

I always give two choices for pick up, such as 'can you collect today at six pm or tomorrow morning at 10am'
If they aren't here within 20mins without contact I feel justified in no longer waiting in.
