Baby reacted to suncream

I used Aldi’s sun cream on my 10 month old daughter earlier as I’ve previously had no problems using it on my son.
However, within 5 mins of having it on her face her nose was streaming, eyes were watering, puffy and red and it was made worse by her rubbing her face and probably into her eyes.
I think she’s allergic to it, although she was fine to have it on her body. Can anyone recommend any sun creams for babies with sensitive skin and eyes?

I have had allergic reactions to suncream before where they caused my skin to become photosensitive. I burnt within an hour of being out in the sun whereas I can go all day in the sun without suncream without burning usually. I have ones I'm fine with but I am extra careful

My DD is super allergic to sunscreen and can only tolerate a couple, one is Lidl's although we always avoid the waterproof ones as she can't tolerate any of those.

@User000111 You’re right! I just checked the opened one I had from last summer (haven’t used it this year obviously) and it was the baby one and in a rush to whizz around Aldi with a toddler and baby in tow I’d picked up the kids one. Hard to believe they can be so different!

Ah hopefully the baby one will be better then 🤞🏼 I got the kids one for the first time this summer as I've used the baby one on my 3yo until now, and he was all dry and itchy so I'm going to keep using the baby one on him I think!

Good luck. My daughter had very sensitive skin too. Had to be trial and error. One thing - many of my friends advised against the ‘all day’ 24 hour type sunscreens which seemed to cause rashes on loads of kids.

Child's Farm do one that is specifically formulated to be good for sensitive skin.

Aldi do a babies sun cream and a separate children's sun cream, maybe the baby one will be more sensitive friendly?

I couldnt get any La Roche Posay before my DD started nursery at 11months so i went for Boots own Soltan 8hr active protect (or something similar to that). She has had reactions to Childs Farm bubble bath (so i assume her skin is fairly sensitive) but no reaction to this suncream yet and it's much cheaper than LRP!

Thank you @EvelynBeatrice. I’ve use La Roche Posay myself every day so I’ll look for the baby version.
She’s always in a hat in the sun but has now decided she’s had enough of it and constantly pulls it off 🤦‍♀️

The advice when my children were little was to keep all babies under 12 months out of direct sunlight or at least minimise their exposure and use sun hat (e.g. Legionnaire’s hat) pram shades etc. However, if you have to use something try La Roche Posay or Avene or a sunscreen specially formulated for faces maybe.
