Recommend slippers to me please!

They need to have some structure, as I have bad feet, and he super comfy (obviously) and not be lined with that horrible slippery furry stuff that all the supermarket slippers seem to have right now.

I’m prepared to pay decent money for decent slippers but I need pointing to them please!

I have the Celtic and co ones - on their fourth year and going strong! You can put them through the wash and they come out good as new. In terms of cost per wear and sustainability I think they are great. The soles on mine are thick and well insulated.

You can always put an orthotic from an old pair of shoes into a slipper.

Just had a look at celtic & co. Look great, but their soles look thin (and some of the reviews comment on that) and in my house the floors are freezing so that's where I need better warmth protection, think I'll stick to moshulu for the thicker soles.

The soles on my Celtic slippers (the bootees and the clogs) are thick rubbery ones: good grip and good enough to take the bins out if I'm lazy. Internally the soles are lined with sheepskin. On milder days I've had to swap out of the bootees and into the clogs because the bootees were too warm. I looked at the Fit Flop ones and they seem to have very thin soles.

I too had Moshulu wooly slippers, which were comfortable enough. We have a dog and I found that the fluffy fibres of those slippers collected dog hair and even my own hair if I'd worn them while blow-drying. I'd end up having to hoover them. The sheepskin slippers don't make everything cling to them.

TOMS slippers are v comfy and last really well (have a v sturdy sole). I have something similar to the Sage slipper, but looks like they have lots of styles.

I like Ugg Dakota moccasins for the winter. Usually get four years out of them. I like a closed back slipper in the winter as I've got a lot of stairs.

My big toe has worn holes in Moshulu boiled wool and Glasswein wool slippers so I've given up on those but I have got a pair of really hard wool clogs with a Birkenstock type footbed that are going strong in their third summer. I don't mind open back in the summer as I leave them at the bottom of the stairs.

I know what you mean by not liking the stuff inside supermarket slippers.

I've never been able to get along with slippers, despite wanting to. I stumbled across these & intended them for outside use. But they are SO comfortable I can put them on first thing, and not take them
off again!! (Fine for driving, nipping into a shop, visiting friends etc).

Have a look at Glerups. They are pure wool and last for ever. I bought husband some 3 or 4 years ago and they are still going strong.

I got some sheepskin ones from drapers of Glastonbury. They're sooo comfy and warm without being sweaty, perfect!

I'm getting Skechers next time - they've got a promotion on at the moment so worth a look. The quality is excellent and they are so comfy. I've got flipflops, trainers, washable trainers, espadrilles and sandals from Skechers and they are all great.

You certainly can get arch support in slippers. Even M&S do them.

I have Celtic and Co ladies sheepskin clogs with backs and also wear the men's bootee slipper in navy.

They have lots of other styles, the sheepskin is from the UK and the sheep are from farmers who don't 'mule' their animals. With a thermal vest, a hat and these slippers on I'm confident that I'll be able to spend the day at 15 degrees in the house without the heating on.

I bought some sheepskin slippers from
Morlands a couple of years ago. Lots of different styles to choose from. Expensive, but well worth it. They are incredibly warm.

Moshulu - a good solid base so they're great for nipping to the bin or just not being floppy.
They are made with wool so don't get sweaty and aren't slippy.
Choice of mule, slipper or boot. Last really well mine are ancient now and still going strong, I wash them in the machine.
No arch support but I don't think you'll get that in any slipper.

I really like Moshulu too!

I've just ordered some sketchers slippers, I've never spent that much money on slippers but I live in sketchers trainers and boots so I have high hopes. They're proper slippers with backs in, fur trim and a button on the side. I'm unreasonable excited waiting for them.
