Please help me find a pillow

I wake up with back/neck pain every night (for about 3 years)

I wake up and toss and turn 5+ times a night because my neck and back ache. Rearrange my feather pillow and get back to sleep.

I definitely can't have a hard pillow, or a high pillow as they ache more. I've ordered a handful over the years, but no luck.

Sorry for the boring post. But has anyone else been here and found a miracle pillow?

Does your back and neck ache during the day? It might not be your pillow that’s the main problem.

Do you sleep on your side? I was like this, and found a feather pillow for side sleepers the best, they are more box shaped around cage edges so support your neck more rather than flattening out. Also, be aware of how you lie- try to keep your arm and shoulders aligned with your body rather than curving them around. It helps me and I have tried all sorts of pillows out of desperation 😂

The edges, not cageBlush

Yes! I changed to a single pillow, from two previously, and it's a firm memory type. So it keeps my head/neck/spine in alignment. No more neck issues.

Think mine is from Mlily.

Thank you all.
No, I don't have neck/back pain during the day. It's only at night.

I only sleep with one pillow and have tried/preferred feather pillows over the years. But the ones I buy go very flat very quickly. (I do fluff them every day)

@gluenotsoup do you know what brand your pillow is?

I got a memory foam one from the physio room website. Supportive without being hard and also has an area specifically shaped for neck support.

I'm on holiday and missing it!

IKEA do a range of pillows with different fillings and heights.
I have a feather pillow that is high for side sleepers and it is awesome.

I got a simba. Lots of money but very comfortable and adjustable as you can remove some of the filling.

Look at you tube for video reviews.

My issues are not as bad as yours OP, but I do struggle to find a pillow that works for me. I find any kind of foam that I’ve gets too hot when I have lay on it for a while. I won’t buy feather pillows because the vast majority of birds are live plucked and it’s extremely painful and traumatic for them. So I’m a bit stuck.

I have an Eve memory foam pillow. It took about a week to get used to it as it felt higher than I was used to but I absolutely love it now. I think they do a 30 day money back guarantee if you're not happy with it.

Tempur pillows are amazing!
I have spent a fortune on pillows over the years looking for the perfect one!
I am a side sleeper and it is amazing, i take it on holiday as i can’t bear to sleep on anything else now.
It keeps it shape and never needs plumping up etc

My Sissel pillow goes everywhere with me. Wonderful for necks (I've had cervical spine surgery).

I can’t remember the make, but it was from Dunelm, feather filled and walled. I’ve tried all sorts, but so far this is the best. Also, the original Dunlopillows are good. I have a Tempur mattress which I do find hot, but comfy, and it put me off the Tempur pillows, I did try other memory foam, but again I found them hot and hard and I ended up with a headache as well as neck ache. Wool - lumpy and hard. Ordinary feather- go flat. Synthetic- thin out at the edge, sweaty. Orthopaedic- ok, nothing special, strangled me if I turned on my front…
Good luck, OP! 😂

Is it worth ensuring your spine is as straight and aligned as possible by having a pillow between your knees if you sleep on your side? This makes a difference for me.

One person's comfort is another torture.
I splashed out £50 on a fancy duck down or goose down pillow can't remember. Very very soft, it's hellish mush to me.

I can't use it at all.

My favourite pillow must be twenty plus years old and it's got "body". If I hold it by the edges the filling willy fall to the bottom. It's firm and I can arrange it around my neck.
