They look good for camping and the beach, any recommendations? I keep getting ads for dock and bay now that I have googled but they aren’t cotton!

I have hammam towels for swimming/camping and they are brilliant. I got mine on Amazon from a turkish company

I have cotton ones and use them for camping, beach even swimming at the Lido.

Definitely worth it OP. They roll up really small and dry super quickly. I would get cotton ones though.

I bought mine from eBay I think.

I'll add my voice to the recommendations for hammam towels.

Foldup to nothing wash really well.

You can also pick them up at TK Maxx/Homesense sometimes.

I have some which have a thin layer of towelling on one side and smooth cotton on the other - they're great as they dry really quickly.

I wouldn’t call dock and bay Hammam towels but they are good towels. They’re enormous and roll up really small.

I bought mine from Homesense and love it. I did umm and ahh as it was still £15 but it's worth it. I'll have a look at H&M if they are that cheap as I'd love to replace most of our towels.

Decent hamman towels aren’t that expensive but are so worth it. You need 100% cotton. I hate microfibres ones, they don’t dry you, are dock and bay microfibre?

I really rate them. We got a pack of four from Amazon for around £20 and they’re great.

They are a bit of an acquired taste, as my OH hates them and uses a normal beach towel. I bought one for DM and she wasn't that keen on it either.

My children have ones I got from Matalan which have a layer of normal towel in them, so they are thicker than traditional Hamans, bit thinner than regular towels.

Dock and bay are microfibre. Their advantage is they’re truly enormous and the sand doesn’t stick to them

I love mine, great for camping! I found them on sale in Tesco about a year ago, paid £5 for two!

I got 100% cotton ones for swimming and they are great.

Thanks all! I’ve ordered a set of four cotton ones from Amazon. Hope they are as the reviews say!

Pure cotton hammam towels are phenomenal and have been my go to beach towels for years!

I am horrified by the price of them in the UK, however! I buy a few every year from the market in Turkey and reckon the most I have ever paid is about £2.50 for a VERY large heavier weight one.

I've just bought one to try and like it. When I went backpacking a few years ago, I used a large length of muslin instead of a towel. Sufficiently absorbent, dries quickly, and folds up to be tiny.

Have you got a link to the 4 pack?

I got a brilliant one from the White Company on a sale years ago, it was fab for keeping in the car just in case (we live near a beach) but we took DCat to the vet in it once and it went missing, I keep meaning to replace it.

Tesco are selling off their version for about £4.50 each. They’re cotton with a thin cotton towering layer on one side.

Here for the link! Been looking to buy some for ages
