I bought myself one for birthday Grin
Also had issues with delayed delivery, they were helpful once I contacted them and reduced cost to 50% due to the delays! had to change from a penguin to a koala and then they came pretty quick.

The cuffs are a bit tight for my liking and the neck hole not quite wide enough. Otherwise it’s lovely! My DDog loves to climb on my knee and snuggle up when I’m wearing it Grin

Well, by the power of Mumsnet, it arrived! Very odd not to get a dispatch notice.
Can't open to see how lovely it is as the delivery van was pulling away just as DS rounded the corner coming back from school so whisked it away for wrapping later.

Hope it arrives in time! I just got back from the school run and am sat downstairs with a cup of tea, all I’m missing is my garlic bread oodie and a biscuit

Sorry, yes, I meant dispatch date of 8th @sepsisandAKI. I was just getting edgy as it's been so long and DS will be wrapped (literally) to get this and it's one gift that is a complete surprise.

I have three coordinating tie die oodies waiting to be opened on Christmas Day. One for me and for the two dds. Can’t remember when I last looked forwards so much to wearing an item of clothing Grin

I hope it's on its way then! Our royal mail deliveries are a bit slow at the mo, it's only a small team and they have had people self isolating.

I ordered an oodie way back in October and was given 8th December as dispatch date
I heard nothing from oodie re delivery
However, it was delivered yesterday (8/12) by royal mail

We have two Oodies and ordered a third one for DS but it won't arrive until after Christmas. I live in mine, as my home office is cold. Ds has a cheaper one from Amazon and it's not as good. The oodie is well made and they pay more to their suppliers so the cost to the consumer is higher. There was a good article about how demand for Oodies has skyrocketed during the pandemic

I have a cheap ebay version that I bought last year. It's beautifully warm. I wouldn't buy the full price one. The dc have them too. Although mine is red, lined with white and I was putting the bins out yesterday and a little girl over the road shouted "Hello, Santa" Grin

@Jumbojem are you sure it wasn’t dispatch date of the 8th? I ordered in October and dispatch date was 8th. It arrived on Saturday via Royal Mail. No shipment email from Oodie or royal mail even though 48hr tracked postage. Hopefully won’t be long for you!

I brought a sloth one for the house so to speak, everyone is usually cold except me, I tried it on for a while and it doesn’t overly Heat you just keeps you nicely warm. My ds12 who has asd absolutely loves it.

@Jumbojem

Hello, I ordered my oodie on 7/10/2020. Around the time of this thread. Delivery was due 8/12/2020 but no word from oodie since I ordered. Now concerned it's not going to show up, it's one of DS1s main gifts (since he didn't want much this year). Has anyone else's shown up? Had a look at trust pilot today, lots of reviews about delayed deliveryConfused

Mine was due for despatch on 15th Dec and arrived today! They are helpful if you email, might be worth contacting them?

From a reply to a recent TrustPilot review:

“We pay what the supplier requests for each Oodie which allows them to set proper wages for their employees. Unlike many large chains and sweat shops which set the price they are willing to pay causing the staff to suffer

Our founder also chose this factory due to their nice clean facility and good working conditions. The working conditions of our factory are great, with employees paid well and full air conditioning. We are very conscious and considerate of world problems - including fast fashion.

We actually believe we are paying about 30% more than our competitors to ensure the quality of the workers who manufacturer our products.”

Fair enough, I know lots of things are made in China. I own plenty of things made there.

It’s more that the Company tries to promote a more wholesome image. The fact they call it ‘Sherpa fleece’ etc and the fact the company isn’t forthcoming about where there hideously overpriced hoodies are made. I actually couldn’t find where they were made on their website, I wouldn’t be suprised if it’s there somewhere but they aren’t upfront about it.

If you search for oodie on Amazon it brings up loads of cheaper looky-likies.

I'd love to buy one, but DH heats the house to tropical levels, so I'd probably die of heat exhaustion/suffocation in one.

I made myself a crochet oversized chunky shrug - a bit like this - which I suspect is similarly effective. It probably isn't any cheaper, but I enjoyed making it so win-win.

Why are you shouting about them being made in China? Lots of things we use daily are made in China.

These are made of 100% POLYESTER 🤮🤮🤮

They MADE IN CHINA

It's not even a UK company

They are expensive for what they are

I do not get the appeal. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The company is good at marketing and getting mentions on social media. I've seen a good few threads about them but don't get what the hype is about.

Great- just what the world needs- more plastic! Unless you're buying from a company that uses recycled plastic to make your fleece it's more pollution to add to the world.

The cognitive dissonance in society never ceases to amaze me!! David Attenborough gains more followers on Instagram and then these things become popular!!!! More and more plastic that is totally unenvironmentally friendly. Love the website where it states that they're cruelty free - I guess destroying the planet and polluting the world with micro plastics isn't cruel?????
