Air fryer, yay or nay?

Amazon have a Tower one on a one day deal. Are they worth it or just one more thing that's going to sit on top of the fridge covered in dust and glaring at me?

How do you do stir fry in it?
Mine is the basket type that you pull out.
I made a great pork belly in it a few weeks back. Think will have to do that again soon.

I love it. Good for most kinds of meat, and great for chips as well. Use it all the time, even discovered how great it is for just crisping up kale in it!

I have an Aldi one and absolutely love it! Pretty much never use my oven these days as the air fryer is quicker and gets things nice and crispy. My Aldi one is quite small though and wouldn't be suitable for a family. Go for it, I wanted one for ages and am so glad I finally got one (impulse buy in Aldi's aisle of nonsense!).

Tefal Actifry 2in1 was an absolute game changer for me. I use it most days to make chips/wedges/roast potatoes in the bottom bit and burgers/bacon/sausages/chicken thighs/drumsticks in the bottom. Really simple to just whack everything in and leave to do its thing and cleans easily too. It's now a permanent addition to my worktop and would be lost without it!

Tefal air fryer here. Chipped Maris Potatoes and a teaspoon of coconut oil makes lovely, soft in the middle, crispy outside, chips 😋

another fan here we have the tefal airfry one it makes lovely chips and leaving the skins on with Cajun spice makes awesome spicy wedges I use mine at least 3 times a week

I love mine and use it pretty much every time I cook instead of the oven. I discovered jacket mini spuds by par boiling then putting in the air fryer.
Oven chips come put much crispier and things take less time than in the oven so saves energy especially as no need to pre heat

Can anyone link to a decent sweet potato frie recipe? And explain the stir fry thing?
We love ours. It makes a cooked breakfast a doddle, it gets used for snacks at lunch time, and lots of other things.
It's great for crisping up a microwave jacked potato.

Love it. I got the cheap Salter one as I wasnt sure how much I would use it but its used daily. I use it for chips, cooking sausages or small frying jobs, roasting nuts or veggies, making croutons etc.

I’ve got the powerbreeze one. Largest capacity. Bought because in lockdown 3 teens were all down at different times and shoving oven on for various bits. You can Craig a croissant in it in 2 mins. All beige freezer food is good and done in half the time takes in oven (and no heating up). Did a couple of sweet potatoes in it. Brilliant for bacon.
Didn’t get a paddle one as heard they can break food up.

According to Which? The Morphy Richards Health Fryer 480003 is much better than the Tower one. I'm really glad you started this thread OP as I've been wondering about getting one.

Ours is used most days and I would describe as a cross between a grill and a fast oven, you can cook without having to watch the food like you would with a grill, great for toasted sandwiches, frozen chips, fishfingers etc

Had a Tefal Actifry years back and it broke, (sold it for scrap on ebay actually!) bought a Philips Airfry and think it's great - probably could use it more often though

We have that exact Tower one. DH had to talk me into getting it. I thought it'll just take up space and never get used. I was so wrong. I use it all the time. Think crispy, succulent but healthy food that's cooked in a third of the time! It's a game changer.

Are there lots of fiddly bits to wash? Not sure what they’re like inside.

Mine has a Teflon lined drawer bit and then a basket that sits inside it, so the fat can drain into the drawer. You can put drawer and basket in the dishwasher but a quick wipe out after use suffices.
I am very lazy and even I can manage it!
