Sorry boring, but are the utensils worth it? Are the nest ones annoying or they ok?

Trying to work out if I can justify spending that much on them!

Way, way, way overpriced in my opinion. Some good ideas, but just not worth the money they ask. We had a washing up bowl with a drain in the bottom. Cost a fortune. The seal gave up after about a year and we replaced it with one costing £7.99. We have a chopping board selection and the casing hasn’t worn well. DH, who is the cook and loves kitchen gadgets, wont entertain any more from them, unless it’s on offer at Brand Alley or similar.

The mixing bowls/colander/measuring cups that sit inside each other are fab. I got them as a gift but if they got stolen (very niche robbers!) I’d repurchase quickly!

The utensils that stack into each other (Nest?) are possibly the most annoying invention ever. I hate them. The elevate utensils are good but definitely take up more room in the drawer

The chopping boards are neat and look nice in their stand but are too small to be truly useful

I have the pasta jars that come in the carousel. They were a bit expensive for what they were, even with a good discount off RRP, from somewhere like Amazon, but the lids match the cupboard doors exactly, I really like them and they are good quality.

I think they have a good selection in Currys, well they do in my local one anyway, so you can go and have a good look at the quality, but possibly find them cheaper online.

I did think the nest ones would be annoying, they look so pretty though I’ll have a look at the elevate ones.

I’m a sucker for a gadget, but then see half decent ones in Tesco and wonder what the difference is?! I might have a look at them in Curry’s, thank you.

I agree about the mixing bowl/colander/sieve/little bowl/measuring cups that all fit together. It's amazing - saves so much space! but we only bought it as we had vouchers.

I love the style of Joseph Joseph stuff but sometimes I wonder if it's more style over substance...

The stacking bowls are great, and in my ting kitchen, the nest utensils and compact cutlery tray are a god send (but a little annoying)

Everything I’ve bought has been well worth the money. The bowls, microwave silicon range and gadgets have lasted so well and have barely any wear. Can usually get 20% off in the Debenhams sale which makes it better value.

I think you’ve sold the stacking bowls to me. Is it difficult though that the sieve has no handle? I like a handle! But I could probably adapt my style!

I have the cut and carve chopping board, I love it! I wouldn't hesitate to replace it if it got ruined/lost etc.

I got the bathroom toothbrush holder as I was fed up with circles from the bottom of the electric toothbrushes bring left all over the counter. Joseph Joseph product does not guarantee that your family will put the sodding toothbrushes in the lovely holder

I love the garlic crusher. I like the bowls. Have a few other bits and bobs. Local TK Maxx seems to have a great range of Joseph Joseph which makes me think that sales at full price are not great.

I have a sink rinsing thing, looks like a drainer for the draining board but is deeper and has spikes inside. The idea is to dip your dishes into the sink in it to rinse. I actually bought it as a drainer as I couldn't find one that would fit. It was way over priced but was the only thing I could find.

I have looked at the other items and even at TK Maxx prices they are still far too much, and unless they are basic items like colanders they are far too fiddly and stupid to be practical.

There are other makes that are less time consuming to use and more practical. You pay massively for the name and it isn't worth it.

I saw my drainer thingy in Homesense yesterday, a different make but identical for £5 - I paid £25 for mine about 3 years ago, complete rip off.

I've got the utensils carousel that I find really handy and it's worn really well (had it a couple of years now). I can't say there's a huge quality difference between that and the knock off versions they sell in places like the range though... maybe try the cheap versions first and upgrade if you really like them

Stacking bowls and boards and Tupperware and their sink bowl are all great. Utensils are shite. Stain easily... not that great material. If I had a little flat I’d get them as they save drawer space and take up no counter space but otherwise they’re pretty and only used for the soup ladle (which is then washed immediately to avoid staining!!)
