Can I just buy everyone an oodie or similar for Christmas or do you think everyone who wants one will have one by December?

I think I might get one of these each for my 3 kids. Looks so snuggly and they love nothing better than lazing around indoors in the winter!!

Thank you! 1st of August and Christmas shopping for student daughters has begun!

I mean I think once I've chosen which to get I'm all done for everyone! Everyone is getting an oodie this year!

Are they better than a dressing gown? I'd love to but my family one each but I don't think they'd 'get' them.

And how can one size fit someone who is a size 18, and also someone who is a size 10?

I think they are an xxxl hoodie or something

They're massive. I'm a size 14 and plenty of room in mine. It's essentially like a big, thick blanket rather than an item of clothing with a large hood and cuffed sleeves so it doesn't slip down over your hands.

I wouldn't say it's a fashion item, but it definitely keeps me warm.

Primark have their version in store for £18 adults, very soft and comfy! I've never tried the "real" oodies though so not sure for comparison, but primark is definitely a great budget friendly alternative. They had loads of cute styles to!

The Kudd.ly ones are often on offer at 5poundstuff.com for about £12. Posters on other threads have mentioned they come in packaging with the name on, and I have managed to find at least two current designs on there...

Thanks for mentioning this.
I ordered some for presents.
The grey ones are kuddly but not packaged.
The navy one isn't a kuddly, I don't think.
The patterned ones come packaged (not in the drawstring bag but in the shrink wrapping).
Good for 11.99!

Don't buy from oodie, they stink! There's an awful chemical smell once you take them out the vacuum packaging. Also they falsely advertise that they arrive in a branded satchel, which is a lie. They really are awful.
M&s, dunelm and even primark are miles better

for anyone handy with a sewing machine there is a free pattern for them at DIBY

doitbetteryourself.club/product/the-billie-wearable-blanket-sewing-pattern/

there's a free children's one as well on the same site.

I've made a couple now and it's a nice straightforward make.

Ah! I got 2 patterned ones and a grey one- all marked as kudd.ly in shrink wrapped packaging. The kids one I got was Cotton On, and fab quality.

The smell! I thought it was just mine!

I was happy with the quality, but yes, it’s absolutely stunk when I took it out of the packaging. I tried airing it and it didn’t shift, and even after a wash there is still a hint of a whiff.

Primark sell Snuddies. IIRC I bought DD's ons in Oct last year.
Just be warned that they're a pain to wash. It got so heavy my machine couldn't spin it. I ended up hand wringing it in the garden. I may have been muttering about a mangle......

only kuddly or ooodie are worth it.

@Flubadubba how big are the cotton on ones.
Would age 8-10 fit a small adult, do you think? Or would they wander about with their arms sticking out like Maggie Simpson?

It's hideous, isn't it? I emailed them and all they advise is to keep washing it! 5 times in the wash and still can't get rid of the stench. Not even worn it yet. I thought they were a genuine company but it's clear it's a scam.

I have a Oodie and a fake oodie from Amazon (Sienna) that was less than £20. Both great, the Oodie is thicker and softer but the Sienna is just as nice.

My daughter has a oodie.
It didn’t stink and it came in a branded sachet.

My son has a primark one and it’s no way the same quality or thickness as the oodie.

When did your daughter buy hers? I paid £100 for 2, neither came in a satchel and both stink, this was June this year. Oodie have only suggested I keep washing them. I even wrote on trust pilot, they won't answer why they didn't post the items in the branded satchel

I would say only get them if you know they will like them. My sister has an Oodie, and it drowns me- I am a size 10 and 5ft 7. Its also really heavy, and the cuffs feel weird, I much prefer my fleecey dressing gown for staying warm at home. So maybe double check the recipient actually likes the idea of one beforehand?
