Hi. I’m heading near to Aldi tomorrow and just wondering what Christmas treats you’ve seen/bought in store already this year that I could pick up to try? Don’t normally shop in Aldi so actually quite interested to see what they have!

@TulipVictory
I have to say, their day to day food in the whole isn’t great. Fruit and veg not good at all. I certainly can’t do my whole weekly shop there. But there are certain things that are nice and worth popping for
TulipVictory · 04/12/2021 11:51
I went yesterday because of this thread and was disappointed, sorry guys 🙈

The blonde chocolate honeycomb is amazing!

I just bought an Aldi hot chocolate melting snowman. It's filled with chocolate drops and marshmallows and you put it into a mug of hot milk and watch it melt into a delicious drink (apparently - I haven't tried it yet). I've also bought a couple of mini Christmas gift cakes for stocking fillers for people on their own.

I don’t think anyone’s mentioned the ALDI Champagne yet. Pretty good…a couple of years ago it was 9.99 a bottle, but now 13.99. Still worth it, though!
And definitely the mini stollen…And the panettone.
Papergirl1968 · 02/12/2021 19:54
The fake Pringles are better than the real thing.
The tubs of mini cakes are good especially the Blondie Brownies.
Their free range chickens are very nice for anyone cooking for a small family
DentalWorries · 02/12/2021 15:46
Does anyone have photos of these suggestions so I know what to look out for?
This isn’t particularly festive but the frozen halloumi fries are incredible. I’ve been known to cook the whole box and eat them dipped in sweet chilli sauce

Wheresmywoolyjumpers · 02/12/2021 14:58
Cant remember if it was Aldi or Lidl but one of them had white mulled wine and it was lovely!
userxx · 02/12/2021 14:39
The chilli jam is delish, would go beautifully on a turkey sandwich.
The baking camembert's are also really good.
happytoseeyou · 02/12/2021 14:39
I second the cherry liqueur chocolates and the Florentines.
The Turkish delight is also very good.

@TheWeeDonkey
dairy free salted caramel with honeycomb and macadamia nuts
Ice-cream?
Athlebad · 02/12/2021 13:34
The dark chocolate truffles - we use these to fill our own advent calendar each year. I've also heard either Aldi or Lidl have chocolate bars with golden tickets in where you can win £10k. Sounds like a perfect stocking filler...
BarkminsterBlue · 02/12/2021 12:59
The Christmas pâtés in reusable Kilner jars, especially the smoked salmon and the chicken liver.
Whole Bries for baking or cheeseboard.
IsThisIt2021 · 01/12/2021 23:01
Thank you all, some fantastic ideas here and I’ll defo be on the look out tomorrow for some of them.
@Puffinhead that made me laugh it starts with an A though!
DentalWorries · 01/12/2021 22:19
We get a Pandoro every year. Looks lovely if you cut it like a star and cover it in some icing sugar. And for £3.99!!
Also agree with the Christmas shaped pretzels
Serin · 01/12/2021 22:16
The fig candle and matching diffuser sticks are gorgeous.
The camembert last year was disgusting, won't be buying that again this year.
DrCoconut · 01/12/2021 21:43
They have gluten free sponge puddings. Chocolate or syrup. To get a choice in GF world is immense 😂. Plus the chocoer hazelnut chocolate that I can have.
mnahmnah · 01/12/2021 21:42
Their dupe of Hotel Chocolat are lovely
Puffinhead · 01/12/2021 21:40
Sorry my mistake, they were Asda!!
Puffinhead · 01/12/2021 21:39
@Gatekeeper
They’re delicious - hence the empty packet! In the Christmas food aisle.

Seasidemumma77 · 01/12/2021 21:21
Sloe gin mince pies
FionnulaTheCooler · 01/12/2021 21:19
The caramel filled mini churros from the frozen party food range are lush. Not specifically Christmas related but the pots of garlic and herb dip in the chiller section is every bit as good as Dominoes.
Daisy829 · 01/12/2021 21:17
I need to find the cheese & chive pretzels. They sound good.
TheWeeDonkey · 01/12/2021 21:14
The chocolate is really good there. I noticed the other day their fake Toblerone that tastes better than a Toblerone is in stock again so I must treat myself. They do a dairy free salted caramel with honeycomb and macadamia nuts that I am addicted to, shove a scoop on one of their Belgian Sugar Waffles OMFG... Its amazing.
RagzReturnsRebooted · 01/12/2021 20:58
Mini butter and marzipan stollen bites. So good and I hate marzipan but I can eat way too many of these.
