What do you want for Christmas ?
starrynight19 · 28/11/2021 20:15
Struggling for ideas what are you hoping for ?
KurtWildesChristmasNamechange · 28/11/2021 21:28
OP starts a nice thread about Christmas gifts, gets told off in the first 5 minutes. That's literally the whole tone of MN these days.
I'm always happy with perfume. I have a favourite so that's always a welcome gift, but it's nice if someone has taken the time to choose something different they think I'll like. Shows they know me well if they know what kind of fragrance will appeal.
I also collect old cookery books, the weirder the better, so there's always a few on my wish list and they tend to not cost more than a few quid but bring me a lot of pleasure.
And fancy candles. I do love a good candle.

Nothing. If I want something I’ll go out and buy it. I’ve told my husband to give the money to charity if he feels he has to do something.

Subscription to Beauty pie

I got my Christmas gift from DH early this year - Emma Bridgewater Christmas crockery. 🎄🎄🎄 There’s another box arriving soon with a few more pieces.😊😊

Gold, lots and lots of gold

I’m running out of mundane things - my moisturiser and mascara (bronzer and foundation too but need to replace those ASAP)
I’m losing earrings all the time so I’ve asked for some simple studs x 3 pairs so they all match for a change
Need slipper boots with a good sole
Nothing exciting but will be happy with the above

I love these threads and read them all for new ideas, especially as it's my birthday soon too.
I'd like a couple of things from the list below:
Molton brown shower gel
turtle dove wrist warmers

I have asked my DM for a foraging basket.
I don’t have a DP or DH so I buy myself a couple things for Christmas, am getting….
New boots (similar to DM’s but not as expensive).
Run and fly dungarees
Yoda slipper socks from primark
Kinder selection box
I would like….
Wrist warmers or fingerless gloves
Waterproof walking socks (if there is such a thing).
Seeds and bulbs for the garden
Lush snow fairy candle
GoodbyePorpoiseSpit · 28/11/2021 22:09
A new dressing gown

Aww Thankyou so much everyone so many lovely ideas here
Trixiefirecracker · 28/11/2021 22:24
I’m fairly obsessed with this jewellery from Grainne Morton. It’s way out of budget for us but a girl can dream..
TheBestForLast · 28/11/2021 23:08
I don't need anything so OH is paying for my car valeting. We work many hours and I struggle to fit cleaning the car in. School runs, mums taxi, full time jobs and don't want to be doing it at weekend. So it's perfect for me.
maofteens · 29/11/2021 02:33
I've bought myself some new scent - not a big perfume wearer but hey it's Christmas!
I'd really love slippers that fit properly (I am size 9). And I'd love a poncho that is long enough to cover my bum (I'm 6').
But what I really want is for my kids to get on (they are teens) and us all have a nice few days without any blow ups.
Avarua · 29/11/2021 02:44
I'd be stoked if someone have me old fashioned after dinner mints. Otherwise happy not to get anything.

Our family has begun doing Secret Santa amount adults. It was so hard to think of items for myself, I am another who doesn't really want anything, but I put an electric throw blanket and a cookbook holder with an acrylic shield to hold down and protect the page on my list. And a Christmas mug.
Oh I just thought of something, I want a white Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer. My mixer is not big enough, and is 32 yrs old. Still works though! That doesn't fit our Secret Santa criteria though.
Hydrate · 29/11/2021 03:25
*among, not amount

MIL wants me to do a list but I am really struggling.
The only thing I have so far are a couple of books from The McMillan Collectors Library (really sweet small books) and Hotel Chocolat chocolate or Lindt champagne truffles.
Itsnotdeep · 04/12/2021 07:47
I want yoga clothes (sweatybetty good)
Loungewear (again Sweatybetty)
Pyjamas - love the Toast ones
Cashmere - anything - socks, wristwarmers, jumper
a Bella Freud oversized 1970 jumper (I think I might be buying this for myself)
Inquisitivearchitect · 04/12/2021 08:06
I love these threads! Because for some reason, I want things & then ask soon as I’m asked “what would you like for Christmas?” my mind goes completely blank and I forget!
Thanks @starrynight19 for starting a lovely thread.
I’ve remembered that I really want one of those deep hair wave tong things & some books!
amy2021 · 04/12/2021 08:12
I'd love to be asked! My husband and I haven't exchanged gifts for years (I'd love even a small token gift) and my parents are about to have extended leave from work due to an operation so aren't doing gifts for the adults this year which is completely fair. I generally just get myself a few nice bits instead.
Bellafrenum · 04/12/2021 08:19
