Struggling for ideas what are you hoping for ?
maofteens · 29/11/2021 02:33
I've bought myself some new scent - not a big perfume wearer but hey it's Christmas!
I'd really love slippers that fit properly (I am size 9). And I'd love a poncho that is long enough to cover my bum (I'm 6').
But what I really want is for my kids to get on (they are teens) and us all have a nice few days without any blow ups.

I don't need anything so OH is paying for my car valeting. We work many hours and I struggle to fit cleaning the car in. School runs, mums taxi, full time jobs and don't want to be doing it at weekend. So it's perfect for me.

I’m fairly obsessed with this jewellery from Grainne Morton. It’s way out of budget for us but a girl can dream..

I’m running out of mundane things - my moisturiser and mascara (bronzer and foundation too but need to replace those ASAP)
I’m losing earrings all the time so I’ve asked for some simple studs x 3 pairs so they all match for a change
Need slipper boots with a good sole
Nothing exciting but will be happy with the above

Nothing. If I want something I’ll go out and buy it. I’ve told my husband to give the money to charity if he feels he has to do something.
KurtWildesChristmasNamechange · 28/11/2021 21:28
OP starts a nice thread about Christmas gifts, gets told off in the first 5 minutes. That's literally the whole tone of MN these days.
I'm always happy with perfume. I have a favourite so that's always a welcome gift, but it's nice if someone has taken the time to choose something different they think I'll like. Shows they know me well if they know what kind of fragrance will appeal.
I also collect old cookery books, the weirder the better, so there's always a few on my wish list and they tend to not cost more than a few quid but bring me a lot of pleasure.
And fancy candles. I do love a good candle.

@starrynight19

Sounds like a fab time 💐
thedefinitionofmadness · 28/11/2021 21:11
I remember that, the mumsnet christmas list - many usernames ago. It was lovely
starrynight19 · 28/11/2021 21:05
That was when mumsnet was a lot lot smaller. We just nominated people and we got told what age their children were and sent gifts. It really was in the spirit of mumsnet in the early days. It just became impossible to manage as the site grew. Thankyou for your kind comments
NeedsCharging · 28/11/2021 21:04
FGS Tool you have made your point!
I hope you feel clever and superior now.
OP
I am usually the same and never have ideas for myself but this year I have asked DP for
New winter boots
Espresso Cup and saucer set.
Books
Boots voucher
PJs
Chocolates
And anything else he thinks I may like.

@starrynight19
I have been a long time away from here so have likely missed so many other threads just thought how good the Christmas ones used to be. I was actually part of the original Christmas threads where we nominated people and sent gifts. Thanks all for your replies.
No need to apologise. Please ignore the disgusting troll and enjoy the lovely Christmas thread you have created.
A secret santa gift thread sounds fab. How did that work?
thedefinitionofmadness · 28/11/2021 21:02
A day off
Failing that, handcream, piano lessons, a fancy japanese camping insulated water bottle and a box of after eights
Longdistance · 28/11/2021 21:01
Well, I’m running low on my Armani she/Elle perfume, so dh is getting me 100ml of that as it’s my signature fragrance.
starrynight19 · 28/11/2021 21:01
@LuluBlakey1
