Thread 24 - the one where it’s Black Friday
Reastie · 26/11/2021 03:41
And I’m up at 3:40am so thought I’d check out if there are any bargains that I need 😁
If you’re posting anything specifically for me please do @ me or I may not spot it. It’s helpful if when sharing bargain info you bold it to make it easy for people to differentiate between chat and bargain links.
To follow the thread without using up a post to mark place you can click on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first post.

Second message has a few links and info which I’ll slowly build up, let me know if there’s anything you’d like me to add to it

Thought I’d do a ‘how to’ for a couple of things people often post about not being sure of
To do click links you do this put link in here then a space then the name or phrase you want to go with the link . Don’t put a space between the start of the link or the last word next to the [[// ]] like I have or it won’t work but I had to to demonstrate.
Some top tips from thelegohooverer:
My tips are:
check out companies on trustpilot before ordering
be wary of companies that only have email/contact firms for customer services and no phone numbers or addresses (unless of course you enjoy meaningless replies from bots)
keep a list of what you’ve ordered so you can follow up if something doesn’t arrive. Sometimes it’s a numbers game where they’re betting on people not following up on missing orders.
check where things are shipped from, particularly if you need them quickly. I’ve got caught out waiting for the slow boat from China when I thought I was ordering locally.
I’ve started using Revolut to avoid putting in my main bank details (and it helps me budget)
Aliexpress have lots of stuff very cheap, order early as it’s all delivered from China here . Be aware some items are a bit knock off in quality and safety, check reviews and be aware. Clothes can come up v small and take the photos with a pinch of salt as a guide for what you will get.

Camelcamelcamel is a brilliant site that tracks prices on amazon here

I think this is the first black Friday that I haven't bought anything 'big' and nothing from Amazon!
Yeknom · 26/11/2021 03:50

CometCupidDonnerBlitzen · 26/11/2021 05:09
Hello all. If anyone sees a Magic Mixie (pink) for any less than £70 could they post and let me know. I begrudge paying so much for absolute tat but my 6 year old has asked Santa for one. Annoyingly they had them discounted on that Argos code earlier in the week but they seem to all be out of stock now. :(
StarfishSleeper · 26/11/2021 05:23
Thanks for the new thread
Not been on here for a while... Looking for a while and we have moved on by a thread or 10!
Looking for an argos code to buy a digital camera for £89.99
Had bought an iPhone specifically for taking photos (not to use as a phone) and have am now locked out (was in the bathroom whilst toddler had phone) and now I need to log into iTunes and have no idea how to, and will probably lose the pics anyway...should have really got a digital camera to start with... But yes any argos codes will be welcome!

Bit late to the party but I saw on a previous thread about tonies - I have a very nearly 2 year old boy (new years Eve baby) and I'm wondering if this would be a sensible buy even if not for immediately, perhaps for a few months time? He loves music and by the sounds of it nursery has one or something similar that plays songs and he adores it!
So what's the best price anyone has got for a starter kit? Any Black Friday/discount codes about? Thanks!
Laney79 · 26/11/2021 05:56
And anyone looking for stocking fillers/cheap gifts Rex of london have some stuff in their offers section -I bought 5 different patterned bamboo mugs for £1.95 each (postage was 3.99 I think but still kept them below £3 each) for my sons nursery team.
They have lots of random little bits that may help someone out https://www.rexlondon.com/clearance?ll=menutopnav&sortbeffcombine=rexlondonqueueepositionASC&refine=%2Fclearance%3Fll%3Drefine&sorttby=rexlondonqueueeposition&sort_order=ASC&page=3

DD had 18th birthday party so am so tired I'm capable of buying Gary Barlow himself by mistake today.
I bought myself the same tablet DD has yesterday from Amazon. Not massively discounted, I got it for about £100 instead of £150- there are certainly bigger discounts for more whizzy tablets but DD has been v impressed with hers. I'll link in a sec. I really rate Huawei.
SapereAude · 26/11/2021 06:02
And thanks @Reastie
Twilightstarbright · 26/11/2021 06:08
@Laney79 can’t help with a bargain but I think a Tonie is perfect for an almost 2yo.
RandomCatGenerator · 26/11/2021 06:13
Joining this thread!
Natural Baby Shower is having a sale across most of their items - including Stokke, Snuzpod, Babyzen, Silver Cross etc. Some are only 5% savings but some of the car seats are on 50% off and some good savings on expensive brand items
checkedcloth · 26/11/2021 06:20
Hello. Does anyone have a Lakeland code ? Much appreciated!
Devoilmum · 26/11/2021 06:22
@Laney79 I have a Vodafone code for 35% off a Toniebox Starter Set if it helps?
SapereAude · 26/11/2021 06:22
It's this one.
Not much memory on this 16g which is why it's cheaper but DD did a whole year of online learning Zoom/Meet classes on it and it never faulted. I just wanted something so I'm not lugging a laptop around so got myself the same.
IggyAce · 26/11/2021 06:23
Thanks for the new thread @Reastie. I finished the old one and am quite pleased with my early morning efforts at a song.
Laney79 · 26/11/2021 06:24
@Devoilmum ooh yes please! Thankyou!
Fallagain · 26/11/2021 06:25
WHsmiths has some discounts still on Melissa and Doug toys and £10 off a £50 spend.
I still need to buy a toy for my 5 year old. I’m tempted by those mixies but them seem extortionate for a bit of tat. Does anyone have any suggestion or deals for a fairy mad 5 year old.
Scrambledbeans · 26/11/2021 06:27
