Can we have a men’s gifts thread

There are often threads asking for ideas for specific men and I’ve often picked up a good idea from them. I thought it might be useful to have a general one to share ideas of what we’re buying, hits and misses of previous years.
So far...
dh is getting clothes, new belt (sounds dull but he’s very particular and it took me a while to track down the exact one so he’ll appreciate the effort, and his current one is looking worn), a magnetic wristband (so I don’t have to hunt for missing screws) and Bluetooth earphones
Df will be getting sports dvds
Dfil is getting a weatherstick and toffee that you break with a hammer and possibly a wireless bird box or a trip on a steam train/canal boat (still thinking about this)

I’ve had success in previous years with grid it for both men and women, and with thin optics tiny reading glasses. Though it took a bit of convincing to give them a go, both dh and fil love them.

Sugru went down like a lead balloon here though it gets recommended a lot, and I’d quite like some myself.

I do like the Snaffling Pig idea.
Anyone know a major chain where I can find them, rather than using Amazon?

DH is getting a stocking and a themed hamper.
In the stocking so far is a new Swiss army knife [his was confiscated at the airport on our last holiday - he was gutted as he'd had it since he was very young.] A whittling book to go with said knife, a flexible magnetic torch, a magnetic wrist band for DIY, a book - 101 weekends in Europe [hint!], a jar of pears in port, a few miniature flavoured gins, bamboo socks, tin of coffee bags, after shave.
The hamper is bird themed and will contain 2 different nesting boxes and camera, various bird feeders and food to go with them and a bird book.
I know he'll be really happy with that.

I’ve ordered the wallet ninja, the grid and the book so thanks everyone! It’s my husbands 40th birthday just before Christmas so I’m in need of lots of ideas...

There's some brilliant ideas on this thread, thank you. I've just ordered both my DS some socks with our dogs face on them. Also guitar T-shirt's for musician DS1.

I'm thinking of getting DF something repeated to family tree/ ancestry chasing but I'm not sure what yet.

You're welcome, OP.

Glad it's of help!

For any sporty types (or people who just struggle in the heat), an ice towel in a carry case always goes down well.

Handy for those who prefer practical presents.

DF is getting a Japanese Hori Hori trowel from Niwaki.com and perhaps a penknife or a weeding hoe too.

DH is getting chocolate coated licorice from Lakrids and a jar of chilli peanuts from New York Delhi. Lauden chocolates are a favourite treat too. He’s also getting a Tour de Yorkshire cycling picture and mug from Lucy Pittaway and a stainless steel lunch box.

JBL Charge 4 Bluetooth speaker. He's complained about the bass not being good enough on his current speaker.
World globe. He loves geography so I think he'll appreciate this and will be educational for the whole family.
Clothes, boxers, socks. Boring but will be appreciated!

@peoplepleaser depends how much you want to spend. DS is nearly 18 and wants to be a pit musician so he's pretty serious about it. He already has 4 basses and would quite like one he's seen for 2.5K!! I think you can imagine my response to that request! So, he has also asked for a new hard shell case, various foot pedals and technical thingies which plug in and do...erm
.stuff! He is getting some fun bass related stuff like a t shirt which says "Lord of the Strings" and a multicolored print of a bass for his wall. For your DS maybe a cool strap for his bass or picks if he uses them.

Just don't have a wallet ninja in your wallet at the airport. Ds loved his & then had it confiscated, never to be seen again.

My husband never used his wallet ninja and was unimpressed with the sugru. He has been dropping hints about a watch so probably that for his main present. Books, loves the penguin little classics so will get some more. An opinel knife he loves wood working and use 's them outdoors. Liquorice and a rubiks cube. The best present I ever got him was a leatherman multi tool, he takes it everywhere and used it. Still tells me how much he loved that gift.

@dementedma what kind of things are you buying related to Bass guitar? DS (12) plays and is really into his but I don't know what I could get him- probably because it's all unfamiliar to me... He has a guitar and an amp already but I'm not sure what else I could get him?

Obviously again equally good for either sex, but a Minirig mini portable bluetooth speaker was a big hit with my DP (was recommended by a friend who does sound as being very good quality for the price, they're also made in the UK which is a nice extra).
