Which gin?

My mum and stepdad have all they need, and don’t usually ask for much for Christmas. But they love gin. Specifically Tanqueray.
I’m not a gin drinker, but would love to treat them both to a really nice bottle, and perhaps get them something different.
I know they’ve tried other brands and have also liked Bombay Sapphire and Pinksters, but did NOT like GB gin!
Any gin connoisseurs fancy giving me a nudge in the right direction? I was looking at Isle of Harris gin, but would appreciate your suggestions!

Brecon gin www.amazon.co.uk/Brecon-Botanicals-Gin-70-cl/dp/B00BFWJT1I?tag=mumsnetforum-21 It's cheaper on Amazon than direct from them.
Silent Pool, Sipsmith are nice - Silent Pool comes in a very nice bottle as well. Last time I was in the pub there was something on the gin menu that was made in a bath in Edinburgh that was lovely but I can't remember what it was called!
Lots of gin reviews at sexdeathrocknroll.com/category/drinks

It's not particularly expensive but I do like Plymouth Gin a lot. My husband picked up a bottle of Rogue Society in Duty Free when abroad (I think it's from New Zealnd, not sure how widely available it is in UK) and it's really lovely, gorgeous black bottle as well.
There's an Irish one called Drumshambo Gunpowder gin which I think is a bit over-rated (and overpriced). Go for Bertha's Revenge instead if you can find it - added bonus if you have a family member called Bertha!

Harris Gin!! It's lovely and the bottle is very special.

Harris Gin is lovely, I gifted my DB Lussa Gin last year and that was well received, it's my favourite gin, very delicate and almost floral
but if they don't like GB gin what about Gin Mare
Longleggedlovely · 21/11/2018 10:51
Harris gin is my absolute favourite though it’s quite a savoury gin if that makes sense. Their glasses are also the nicest to drink a gin from IMO. They do beautiful boxed gift sets too.

You're all wrong, Isle of Arran gin is the best

Wild Island/ Sacred Tree - both come in stunning bottles - as does the Botanist (an absolute favourite of my husband!)

Thanks all!
Sounds like Harris gin is popular, but it’s good to get plenty of suggestions. Time to do some Googling!

The Seville orange Tanqueray is very delicious if you know they like Tanqueray. I got a bottle in my Ocado order for under £20

Harris gin is excellent and I also love Rock Rose gin.
dellacucina · 21/11/2018 14:51
Tanqueray 10 is a delicious premium gin.
Chocolatebourbons · 21/11/2018 14:52
Gin Mare or Silent Pool.
raindancemumma · 21/11/2018 14:54
Cotswolds Distillery gin is amazing!! I would definitely recommend
Mondrian · 21/11/2018 15:03
If they like Bombay Sapphire then how about Star of Bombay - a bit more unusual and rare. Alternatively why not treat them to a tour of Bombay Sapphire distillery in Whitchurch, Hampshire.
SwearyInn · 21/11/2018 15:05
Isle of Harris gin is great.
Chase Elegant 48 also wonderful.
ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 21/11/2018 15:21
Silent pool, or Ophir for something different. Both come in beautiful bottles!
anniehm · 21/11/2018 15:40
They had a large gin range in Morrison's yesterday in pretty bottles, not a gin drinker myself but I loved the bottles
traceyturnblatt · 21/11/2018 15:45
Gin Bothy is fantastic. They have one called gunshot that you have with ginger ale and it's like a hot toddy
Ladygaggia · 21/11/2018 15:56
Ahhh Whitley Neil Rhubarb and Ginger is amazing.
AliceLutherNeeMorgan · 21/11/2018 16:45
Tanqueray Lovage is delicious; another savoury sort of tasting one

Tanqueray Ten is the smart Tanqueray to have.
I like Bathtub Gin the best - you can get it at M&S and it's delicious.
Hendricks also ace.
I wouldn't get them a flavoured gin as it's a bit of a gamble.

I was going to suggest Harris gin but others have beaten me to it. The bottle is stunning too!
sunshineandthunder · 21/11/2018 16:57
Portobello Road gin is absolutely fabulous with Fever Tree tonic and a slice of pink grapefruit.
Pickerings is also lovely if you want to try something a little different!
