So whist talking to a random mum at soft play she was surprised at our “big family” 9 children (full time custody of 3 step children) l. Never thought of us as a big family lol but ask away

Wow. The level of judgement on this thread is why I left Mumsnet for years.
I assume, by your name, you have a dog mydogisthebest. I have two, love them to pieces. They are not the most environmentally friendly concept are they? Dogs are not fundamentally necessary to the essentials of living, they just enhance your life.
That said, I could be making assumptions about your life based on a few posts......

Fuck me there are some miserable cunts on this thread!
OP you and your family sound absolutely amazing - I bet you all have such a great time together x
Please don't take any notice of the bloody do-gooders bleating on...I bet they all drive bloody big cars and go on foreign holidays!
Xxxx❤️❤️❤️

if You Google bed pods they come up ( I can’t upload photo thanks to rubbish Wi-Fi but will keep trying). Mine each have a tv with long length headphones, a shelf for their bits, a little night light and a rail at the end for clothes they are wearing the next day and the boys have their consoles. We popped a curtain on them so they have some privacy. It gives them their own space. Only ones who didn’t want it were my big girls
Fatarseflanagan09 · 09/08/2022 19:20
What you on about, selfish on the planet, what do you suggest she does?
the kids are here now, what’s she supposed to do exterminate some of them?
I can’t stand these uppity mealy mouthed twats that spout shite like that, it’s just nasty pontifical shit.
Creepymanonagoatfarm · 09/08/2022 13:41
Nowt to ask.
I have more biological dc!!
SouthWestChief · 09/08/2022 17:03
And following on from that I am always intrigued if people with lots of children think their genes are in some way so superior that they have to have more children than those simply to replace (akaBojo)
Particularly your DH as he had 3 already? So he has overpopulated twice with different women
Lillith111 · 09/08/2022 14:16
Do you never think it’s quite selfish to your kids and the planet?
JanisMoplin · 09/08/2022 19:10
It's like teaching physics to cats. She says, sourly.
mydogisthebest · 09/08/2022 19:07
I really hope you are not serious.
Quite apart from overpopulation what about the cost of all those children? The cost to the already overstretched NHS. A birth with no complications costs the NHS around £10,000. The cost of other medical treatment. The cost of education. The cost of child benefit and, possibly, tax credits.
It IS other people's business when some choose to be so selfish.
KJPrice · 09/08/2022 18:52
No.. because they are no comparison in my eyes. If people want 30 kids.. let them crack on. None of anyones business!
stuntbubbles · 09/08/2022 18:41
Do you also look at news stories about the climate crisis, about food security and famine and war and displacement of millions of people, and think “grow up”? Fascinating.
KJPrice · 09/08/2022 18:14
No, I read that.. cheers.
Still doesn’t explain why people are calling her selfish and other bits on nonsense for having so many children because of the “effect it will have on the environment” Grow up.
AnneLovesGilbert · 09/08/2022 18:12
Perhaps you missed OP inviting questions on the size of her family.
KJPrice · 09/08/2022 18:11
I’m actually racking my brains how people on this thread think it’s ANY of their business as to how many children people have?! Big families are very common. I too am from a big family! We all work etc, so what difference does it make?! Absolute FREAKS of the internet! Makes me cringe 😂😂😂😂😂😂

For the people worried about the impact of the 9 extra children on the planet, here’s a nice balanced article on population/over population it’s not so clear cut really, even if it intuitively makes sense that fewer people would be better. Fewer rich people possibly would be better, but that’s more a matter of redistribution rather than ecofascistic policies around population control.

No such thing as 'pre planning', that's what planning means.'
Itwillworkifyoutryit2222 · 09/08/2022 16:10
@Lillith111 living up to your handle there I see! no surprise you were banished from the garden 😉
We’re going to need people to fix the planet, so having plenty of children is a good thing. We are also going to need tax payers and carers and medical staff to be nice to us when we get too old or sick to take care of ourselves. I’m sure all of “the world is overpopulated” won’t mind going to the back of the queue given they would be happier if said carers, medics and tax payers never existed?
@Devonmum2022 sounds like hectic fun! You must be incredibly organised- do you find you have to do a lot of pre planning?
