The 9 best night creams
When's the last time you got a good night's sleep? Oh, don't worry, we don't remember ours either *sobs into coffee*. Restore your skin with the best night creams on the market, tried and tested by Mumsnetters, and starting at just £1.49
Hold on, what is a night cream?
We get it, you're probably thinking: “What is a night cream, and do I even really need one?” Well, we can confirm that there are plenty of reasons to invest in a good one.
For all the science nerds out there, your skin does a lot of cell regeneration overnight – more so than in the day, when those pesky UV rays get in the way of production. It's essential, therefore, that you capitalise on this time of regeneration, especially as your skin is warmer in the evening, and therefore more likely to absorb all the good stuff you get in a pot of night cream.
They can include ingredients like:
- Peptides (amino acids which encourage collagen repair, creating younger-looking skin)
- Antioxidants (all those essential vitamins you need for a brighter complexion)
- And hydrators (which, of course, hydrate the skin – which is really important at night, when it loses a lot of moisture)
