"Lovely place, staff need a little work…"
Used the spa as a day spa but its attached to a (pretty nice looking from what I saw) hotel so a spa break is possible. There's a sauna, large jacuzzi, ice room, normal swimming pool, turkish bath and crystal room, a conservatory and walled garden, plus a range of treatment rooms. Dinner is provided in a section of the hotels restaurant, which was a bit cold in a swimsuit!!! It is a lovely place. There's a tepid jacuzzi as well as a hot one, which is a nice addition for pregnant users. The conservatory is very comfortable, although there's not that much room in bad weather when the garden is unusable. It is nice in a storm to sit inside and look up at the roof though! It's a nice place but my complaints are the food and the staff. Treatment staff were friendly and normal, but reception staff and dining staff didn't provide much in the way of service - I felt ignored and undervalued. Perhaps they are overworked, or just poorly trained. The dining room was cold and while the food was pleasant, the portions were poor and there was no buffet. I was still hungry when I'd had my dinner and tried to buy more food, but nobody would serve me!!! I did enjoy the day but thought value for money was poor compared with other spas.
