A wonderful place to stay in Cornwall. Located just outside of St Austell so close to shops and amenities and lots of places to visit, but retaining a lovely countryside feel.
Run by Judith and John who were extremely welcoming and helpful without being intrusive.
We arrived to be greeted by the friendly farm donkeys who lived right outside out cottage front door, and inside a tasty welcome pack of bacon, sausages, eggs and a cream tea! The cottages had lots of the basics needed to get you settled quickly and to save carting too much down for a holiday - tea bags and sugar, tin foil, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll etc. We'd advised on booking that we had a 2.5 year old with us, and pleased to see the cottage perfectly set up for us - stair gates on the stairs, bed guard on the bed and much to his delight an entire box of toys to play with in his room!
You are welcomed to interact with the animals on the farm any time - our son loved feeding the pigs, helped collect eggs from the chickens, tickled the donkeys and sheep.
Facilities at the cottages for families were fantastic. There is an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, outdoor play area with swing, slides and climbing frame, ride on tractor, and a brand newly refurbished indoor playroom. (Plus a small gym which we didn't use). The indoor playroom upstairs contains air hockey, pool table, ping pong table, lots of DVDs, jigsaws and books to borrow for adults and children. Downstairs is a haven for toddlers with a funky playhouse built under the stairs, soft play area, drawing areas, car mat, train set and a whole toy boy of other things to play with.
Location wise we though the cottages were perfect for visiting many of Cornwall's attractions on both coasts - Newquay on the North coast is only about a 30 minutes drive away.
