"Great, practical hostel in the centre of a lovely town…"
Looks great, fantastic location, cheap as chips (we got a deal for a family room with six beds for £60, usually £80) - who wouldn't enjoy this? It's a youth hostel which of course means basic accommodation, but unusually my 6'4" husband was able to stretch out in the (bunk) beds. The lounge was a lovely quiet room with plenty of board games. As in most hostels, the self-catering kitchen has been cut to the minimum, but it was perfectly functional on a Friday night and producing your own food is so much less stressful with fussy children. The cafe was great and we really enjoyed our breakfast but it wasn't THAT cheap (£20 for the four of us to eat). There were plenty of leaflets available and we got an ordnance survey map of the area at the newsagent over the square. We really enjoyed strolling around the town on a quiet winter night and the hostel is on the Cotswold Way for walking as well as in a fantastic area.
