"A cottage on top of the world…"
Sitting above The Needles on the Isle of Wight, these two National Trust Cottages are just fantastic. You get unlimited panoramas across the sea to the south coast and during Cowes Week, you get an unrivalled view of the boats as they round the point. The Needles Headland has a fascinating history having been a shore battery from Victorian times up until the Second World War and a ballistic missile and space rocket testing station after the war. Plenty for the kids to look at and, if they get bored with that, there are the delights of Freshwater Bay at the bottom of the hill.
