Resort: Tignes 1800
"Comfortable, convenient appartment fantastically located for a family ski holiday…"
These apartments are modern and stylish, spacious and very well equipped for self catering. The beds are super-comfy and shower/baths all modern and worked well. The set up is great as you can leave your skis and boots in a spacious boot room at the bottom of the apartments from where it's a very short stroll to the slopes. There's a lovely reception area with a pool table and a seating area, and from there you can access the spa with steam rooms, gym, large swimming pool, jacuzzi and therapists. Everything is very child friendly (including the pool) and you can borrow dvd players, raclette machines and order deli meals from reception. There's also a really good local supermarket and ski hire shop right next door to the apartments as well as a boulangerie where you can pick up fresh baguettes each morning. In terms of bars and nightlife, there wasn’t much - this is a very quiet spot with only one or two restaurants or bars, so not particularly recommended for apres-ski lovers. We tended to eat out at lunch time and eat dinner in the apartment and then watch a movie. But Tignes Le Brevieres and Tignes Le Lac were about a 10-15 minute drive away if you fancied a livelier night out. Tignes 1800 gives you access to the huge Espace Killy ski area. It's high so very reliable for the best snow (particularly early in the season) and great for beginners, intermediates and experts alike.
