"Great compact family friendly resort.…"
We stayed at the Hovi cabins in December 2014 on a self catering crystal ski holiday. Great location, biggest supermarket directly opposite with a hot food deli!, approx 5 mins walk to ski lifts. We stayed in cabin 2, it was fine for our family of 4, (probably a little cozy for 6 adults) Cabin was clean but of the older wooden style and perhaps a little tired but when we booked it was approx 1/2 the price of the other accomodation so we were happy with the compromise and felt it was good value for money so our rating of very good is based on that. New bed linen / mattresses would make a big improvement. WIFI was very good and we had all we needed as far as pots, plates cutlery etc. The drying room area in the entrance is a real bonus. The reception is at the Bergo hotel and we found them very helpful. Recommend making use of the crystal "swim" deal at the radisson and you can use the massive pool and sauna there. Overall Beitostolen is a great small family resort, don't eat out and buy your alcohol at duty free in Gatwick and you shouldn't come home broke! The supermarkets are actually not that expensive and are very well stocked. When we went pre Christmas in December not all the facilities were open but there was plenty of snow and we really enjoyed our holiday. Perhaps not for die hard dawn to dusk skiers but if you have a younger family or are just learning it is great. We logged our ski trip search "twoplustwocrew beitostolen" on you tube.
