"Great first junior road bike…"
This is an excellent good value road bike for a young rider trying out road riding for the first time. It's lightweight, fairly sturdy, has a good range of gears, great positioning and proportioning for the younger rider. My son especially liked the Tektro R312 Dual pivot brakes, which has 'proper' gear shifters on the brake levers like mum's bike, rather than higher up on the handlebars as found on some other entry level road bikes. He can whizz about on it and it's been great for him to try it out before spending too much on a more serious model. On the downsides, some aspects are very reflective of the low price - the paint flecks far too easily, the tyres are thin and easily punctured, the handlebar tape has worn very quickly and a barrel adjuster has broken. The gears are incredibly difficult to tune accurately. For the price though, it's certainly been a very good purchase.
