Got this for our DS for his 2nd birthday. We got the larger of the two (there's also a 10" version) because he was tall for his age. We started him off with the seat at it's lowest point point and now, nearly 2 years later he's finally outgrown it and will get a big boy bike (without stabilisers) for Xmas.
DS got the hang of balancing and 'running' pretty quickly but took about 6 months to feel confident using the brake. Now he zooms confidently down hills and brakes fine. I took the stand off about 6 months ago because he kept hitting his ankle on it but I think that is because of his height (he lifts his feet up behind him when he zooms) rather than the bike design.
Why I love this bike:
really well made
didn't need much assembly
no gimmicky stickers
has a brake (most balance bikes don't)
brake lever can be adjusted for different hand sizes
comes with a stand (most balance bikes don't)
I recommend this brand to everybody, and we'll be getting another one (with pedals) as a replacement. My only gripe is that they don't do bikes for older children - largest wheel size is 16" - I'd happily buy from this company every time.
