I did a lot of research before getting this monitor and I am convinced I have made totally the right decision. The picture quality is amazing, day or night. We had a different, cheaper monitor before this one (I won't name and shame!) whose picture quality was so poor you could barely see what was going on. At night time it lit up like a Christmas tree - sometimes actually waking up my baby! The BabyPing has fantastic picture quality and doesn't light up at all at night - very impressive.
I also love that you view the camera through an app, meaning you view it on your phone/iPad. This, coupled with the cry alerts it sends, mean you can just have your phone in your pocket/on your bedside table and you are still monitoring your baby. I was worried that this would therefore put my phone out of action when I was using the monitor, but the app works behind anything else I am doing, so I can be making a call, or watching a video or anything and I’ll still get an alert if baby cries!
We have even found that it has helped with our LO's sleeping patterns. Because we can easily look in at night and see if she is crying for attention or because she is actually distressed we know when we need to go in and when we can watch her put herself back to sleep. She is already sleeping for longer each night.
It is really easy to set up and, considering the other top end video monitors are about £200/250, it’s pretty cheap (£150).
The icing on the cake is that DH works away a lot and he loves being able to look in on his DD from the other side of the world - very cool.
No doubt that I would recommend this monitor to anyone. It is easy to use and everything just seems to work.
