This microwave looks great –it's super sleek, modern and stylish and it fits in with all the other Morphy Richards kettles/toasters etc.
Our microwave is about 2 years old now, and it's starting to show it's age. If you microwave anything that creates steam (so pretty much anything) it will cut out within about 4 minutes. This makes it almost impossible to do one thing after another, like if you're cooking two <cough>microwave meals<cough> nutritious leftover meals in a row. When you unplug it and leave it with the door open it takes about 10-15 minutes to come back on, making it impossible to sync cooking multiple things at once.
The plasticy coating over the buttons has started to scratch off from day-to-day use (I'd say we use it around once or twice a week - less because of the problems - which is probably a blessing in disguise...), making it look a bit scruffy and untidy.
It takes ages to defrost anything. In fact, I'm not entirely sure the defrost function is still working on ours <panics...>
And it's got some fun buttons that I was drawn to (stupid, I know), like 'potato' and 'beverage' –which obviously are exactly the same as normal microwaving. Although I don't know what I expected in that respect...
Overall, it looks nice but it's not really built to last and it has a lot of flaws. I'd expect it to last a bit longer for the £70 we paid for it (in Argos a few years ago)
