"Kicked out because of crying child…"
Kicked out for crying from The Rowbarge in Woolhampton. My 1 yr old son was compared to a loud drunk and asked to leave the Rowbarge pub yesterday. Me & my family were shocked at the treatment we received from the manager.
My wife and I have visited the Rowbarge pub multiple times with our 3 children. Yesterday we booked especially to celebrate my birthday. When we arrived my son was unsettled. We all know babies can be annoying when they cry so we were taking the kids outside to calm them & avoid disrupting other guests. Just as our food arrived, the manager approached our table and in front of the whole restaurant, he told us he had received multiple complaints about my son. He gave us an ultimatum "Sorry to have to do this. Can you quieten him down or..."
With the Rowbarge being a family establishment we were taken back by this approach. We understand unnecessary noise is annoying for anyone but babies cry. That's life. We were given no alternative solution from the manager (ie a table outside). To top it all off, he tried to justify his actions by explaining "I would have done the same if there was a loud drunk in the pub"
