"This new approach to a well-loved and familiar tale is truly a sensation…"
Beginning in a clearing in a wood the sinister Mr Fox wields an axe to attack a tree only to be sent on his way by a flickering blue light and so the spell is cast. Throughout the play innovative puppetry plays it’s part. The adult characters literally tower over the children and Pinocchio; and it’s a neat slant that the puppet characters are played by humans and the humans are played by puppets. This is a very well-executed play featuring many sleight of hand tricks, cunning effects, excellent choreography and a great re-working of the Disney Pinocchio songs. The set and props work very well and the puppets are skilfully managed, subtly portraying emotion. Some of the effects are astounding if not out of this world: how does Pinocchio's nose grow? How does the Blue Fairy fly? You try and figure it out. Well worth seeing and will stay in the memory for a long time.
