Babymoov Urban Review
With plenty of handy extras, such as an insulated bottle bag and a dummy pouch, we were impressed by the Babymoov Urban's credentials and very affordable price. At just £34.99 we think it's well deserving of our Best for Budget award, plus the unisex messenger bag style means it can pass from parent to parent with no complaints.

Babymoov Urban comes with a foldaway changing mat, clear plastic pouch and a smaller zip pouch that's perfect for storing your baby's dummy. It's a simple and stylish, affordable shoulder bag.
The Babymoov Urban is well designed with lots of pockets for keeping your things organised. Two large slip pockets on the outside easily fit books, small snacks and toys. Water bottles (one for you and one for your baby) slot in the elasticated pockets on either side of the bag.
These additional features, combined with the handy pockets and fantastically low price made the Babymoov Urban a clear Mumsnet Best for Budget winner.
Does the Babymoov Urban shoulder bag have enough space to carry everything needed for a day out?
The Babymoov Urban is pretty compact compared to other changing bags on the market. But we think it's the perfect size for parents of newborns who want to carry all the essentials in a smaller shoulder bag rather than lug around something representing a motor home.
That said, it has a large main compartment which is useful for your bulkier items and also a great plastic-lined storage pocket to carry smaller and messy things, such as make-up or wet or soiled clothes. The shoulder bag also has a pouch specifically designed to store your baby's dummy, which we thought was very clever, and there's an insulated pocket which would store either one large bottle of milk or two smaller ones.
The Babymoov Urban double zip is snag-proof, so you don't have to worry about things getting caught in it, potentially delaying your poonami clean-up. A Velcro tab fastens over the main zip, keeping your valuables nice and safe in a crowd, so it's ideal for travelling on public transport with your baby – a time when lots of parents are very easily distracted – we thought this was a really useful design feature.
Is the Babymoov Urban shoulder bag easy to carry?
You can sling the Babymoov Urban over one shoulder or across your body. The adjustable padded strap means it's super easy to switch between parents, too.
The bag won't weigh you down when it's full because of its compact size and lightweight material. This not only means the shoulder bag is light to carry, but also you can attach it to a buggy with poppers (and the buggy won't topple over, leaving your baby face up, feet in the air).
Is the Babymoov Urban easy to clean?
Unfortunately, our tester found the inside polyester lining stained quite easily but it was nothing a quick hand-wash didn't remove. The dark colour means and marks on the outside of the bag aren't too obvious.
Is the changing mat easy to use?
Our tester found the changing mat a little on the narrow side and her baby had a tendency to wiggle off the mat and make a mess.
However, it is wipe clean (should an explosion occur) and it's padded to keep your baby comfy. Once it's no longer needed, it folds away easily and the Velcro fastening keeps it compact and out the way.
How does the shoulder bag look?
It's not the most eye-catching changing bag but it's definitely nice enough for a budget offering.
The Babymoov Urban isn't immediately identifiable as a changing bag, so you could continue using it as a day-bag when your changing days are (finally) over.
Is the Babymoov Urban good value for money?
Absolutely. It's a great price and with a lifetime guarantee covering you for any faults, the Babymoov Urban is a fantastic option for parents looking for a well-priced but practical changing bag.
The additional pouches and roomy external pockets fit everything you could possibly need for a baby on a day out. We're not sure it's ideal for multiples, but it is fantastic for a day out with one child when you don't want to be weighed down by a huge changing bag.
