"A fascinating insight…"
A well-written and interesting first-hand account of the experience of psychosis for anyone interested in mental illness, whether lay person or professional. This is the best insight I have ever had into how easily the shift from normal or "shared" thinking can happen and how the mind can trick you into embellishing your own experiences, so that the line between what's real and what isn't becomes blurred. The way that Catherine tells her story creates a fabulous insight into how disordered thinking starts to develop. The book goes on to explore potential triggers for psychosis and includes interesting chapters on recognisable symptoms, ie pressure of speech, as a reference for professionals.
