"Paperback easily carried and sustainable…"
This was a book selected for my daughter- in -law for a Christmas Present basically because it had a fox on the front cover and a hare on the back - both woodland creatures she loves! Being that she was pregnant and of a sensitive nature I suddenly realised that the resume of the story outlined on the reverse concerning the death of a baby during the first few pages would no doubt distress her. I decided to read the book. The historical and moving accounts that proceeded throughout the 1st and 2nd World Wars were moving, graphic and thought provoking and I was overwhelmed by the sense of rebirth and second chances that could be offered to us during our lifetime. When my daughter-in-law has given birth to my first grandchild (and maybe sometime after) I would like to share this book with her as I found it totally thought provoking (and confusing at times) but carried a message that we have (hopefully) the opportunity of changing our directions if we question them.
