"A new twist on the fate of Jack The Ripper's last victim.…"
Very little is known about Mary Kelly, the last victim of Jack the Ripper and this book gives a very credible account of how she came from the valleys of Wales to ride in carriages dressed like a lady and to die in a hovel in the East End of London. The book was recommended to me by a friend and, whilst I am not a "Ripper" fanatic, I found I was unable to stop reading it. In fact, I have now read it twice! It is a large book and takes a while to read but I found out a lot about London of those times that I had no idea of and I loved the twist in the tale. The book is well written and factual but not with such a plethora of descriptive narrative that it detracts from the story. I can highly recommend it.
