I am the Mother of two sporty boys and am always searching for new ideas for meals that appeal to both the kids and the rest of the family. This book gives fantastic recipes that are easy to prepare and which, so far, the kids have really loved, so much so that they are choosing recipes from the book and asking me to cook them! Although Go Faster Food for Kids contains loads of really delicious recipes, it is much more than a cookbook. It gives clear, practical, straightforward information on nutrition for active children, ideas on how to feed fussy eaters healthily, and helpful advice on planning family meals and snacks around a busy family lifestyle of work, school and children's activities. A particular favourite are the tasty energy flapjack bars which I am convinced power my sons through after-school football club. The banana buttermilk blinis are very popular too! The recipes are beautifully illustrated in colour and marked with an icon as to whether it is healthy and sustaining, pre- exercise, recovery, vegetarian or economy eating. Another nice touch is the addition of case studies of real 'Go Faster Kids' and what they like to eat to help them in their sports. Great to read about British Kids excelling in their various sports and what fabulous action photographs! WOW!!! I think this book is great and will certainly be recommending it to my friends at school and the kid's sports clubs.
