"I bought this for my daughter who's in year 6…"
I bought this for my daughter who's in year 6 and lacks confidence in her ability in maths and she really enjoyed it. Some of it is a bit beyond her level but we'll certainly look again next year when she moves to secondary school. It's strapline 'how to survive year 6 through to year 9 maths without losing your mind or breaking a nail' sets the tone - without being patronising it teaches maths in a fun and lighthearted way with lots of tips and shortcuts. Fractions are taught by using pizza and birthday cake and prime numbers via selling on Ebay. It's quite American in its language but my daughter really enjoyed the layout and we'll definitely use it as a tool when looking at different aspects of maths (the chapter on converting decimals into fractions was great for me!)
