"Solid, adjustable, but not perfect…"
When it camel on choosing highs hair we went top of the line with a tripp trapp, but needed another chair to have to take to friends' or family's houses as needed, so we were in the market for a booster seat. As we wanted to use it before our daughter was 100% steady sitting up the bud was ideal. The removable colour insert makes it smaller, the feet raise it up higher, and the tray sat very close to her body, meaning that she could actually sit in it easily from 4 months, though it is recommended from 6.
It is easy to attach to any chair with a back, and the tray can be removed so she sits directly at the table with us.
The tray is no longer usable for us as our daughter is still using the coloured insert, but too big for the tray to fit over her belly! The tray is adjustable, but even on the loosest setting it no longer fits. Granted, my daughter is a 98th centile 11 month old, so is bigger than most, but I still think it's a design flaw.
The feet under the chair leave an impression in padded dining chairs. If you're using it occasionally this isn't a problem, but we have been using it permanently as we have relocated to France for 7 months and not brought the tripp trapp. We have to rotate the bud from one chair to another to make sure it doesn't permanently leave impressions on the chairs.
If you're looking for a portable booster seat to take out to pubs or restaurants, it's really too big to be easily portable, but it's easy to keep in the car for emergencies.
