"We couldn't have lived without the Tiny Love Rocker Napper. It’s also great with other children around because it's so sturdy, so no danger of getting knocked over or fallen on."

What is the Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper like to assemble?

The Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper is a baby product that you'll likely want to set up before your baby arrives.

Taking almost an hour (57 minutes to be precise) for our tester, Luci, to put it together, this bouncer scored low for assembly and took the longest of all the baby bouncers we tested to set up.

She also needed a screwdriver and, while the instructions were simple to follow, there were a lot of parts to put together. This meant that she occasionally had to look back to make adjustments, which made the job even longer.

However, if you encounter any problems with setting up or lose the paper manual, videos and instructions are available on the Tiny Love website.

Is the Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper safe and stable?

Once the Rocker Napper is assembled, it becomes a safe, multi-functional baby seat. The three recline settings click into place securely and the seat comes with a padded three-point harness.

For nap times, the hanging mobile can be moved to the side or removed completely to make it easier to get baby in and out. When in napping mode, the soft padded mattress and raised borders provide a secure environment for them to rest.

Though Tiny Love does advise parents to still use a cot or newborn bed for prolonged periods of sleep, this rocker will give comfort to parents who want to be able to lie their baby flat for naps but still keep an eye on them as they sleep.

In a busy house of four, there was always someone rushing around our tester’s house, especially her energetic five-year-old son. But when the Rocker Napper was left out, it was sturdy enough that it didn’t cause any accidents or get knocked over.

During testing, the rocker was used safely on all kinds of flooring, such as slate, wood and carpet, and the seat was robust enough to be rocked by an older brother who loved to lean in to kiss his newborn sister.

What’s it like to use day-to-day?

One of the things that is so appealing about the Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper is the ability to lie the seat flat for nap times. Your baby can go from playing to resting with just one click, so there’s no worrying about waking them up if they’re asleep. This also allows you to keep them close by at all times during the day.

The rocker works in three positions – napper (for relaxing and napping), rock and play (which can also help babies suffering from reflux), and seat (a more upright position where babies can play with the musical toys and even try out their first foods).

You can gently switch between the settings by clicking the button at the back of the seat without disturbing the baby but, as there is no head support, the higher positions wouldn’t be suitable for a newborn.

The seat is made from cotton and polyester and comes with a padded inlay making it super cosy and suitable for newborns at the lowest setting.

It also provides plenty of room for a growing baby, but it’s worth noting that this product is only suitable for use up to 9kg (around six months) so it won't last as long as other baby bouncers we tested, such as the Fisher-Price Infant-to-Toddler Rocker.

Our tester absolutely loved this product though, especially as she didn’t need to have a Moses basket around the house for naps. Thanks to the soothing rocking, vibrations and music, she also had no problems getting her daughter off to sleep.

With a gentle tap of your foot, the seat rocks for approximately 15 seconds and, once baby is asleep, you can pull the feet on the base down to hold it in place. By four months, our tester’s baby could rock the bouncer by herself.

The toy bar includes lights, two toys and nine music settings, ranging from soothing classical and heartbeat to lively tunes. It does, however, only have two sound levels and the seat requires two different kinds of batteries to work.

Our tester’s baby was mesmerised by the lights and she’d happily sit in the chair while Mum was busy. The toy bar feels robust but can easily be twisted to the side or removed completely – this can even be done one-handed if you have your baby in the other. The toys can’t be moved closer though and our tester’s baby was only able to reach them from three months old.

All-in-all, the rocker is larger than a traditional bassinet but not too heavy, weighing just under 6kg – during testing it was moved from room to room and even taken upstairs. The Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper doesn’t fold though so it wouldn’t be suitable for travel.

How easy is it to clean?

The covers can be removed and machine-washed at 30 degrees. Milk wiped away easily and tomato ketchup came off with stain remover before going into the washing machine.

Our tester did need to give the covers another spin to get rid of excess water, but the light grey colour on the baby bouncer she tested came out looking brand-new and went back onto the rocker with no issues.

You do have to dismantle parts of the rocker to get the outer cover off, which could be time-consuming if you have a sicky baby and have to wash them regularly.

The base can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

How does it look?

The redesigned Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper is available in stylish neutral grey and denim blue colours, however original colours also include red and grey-turquoise. We used the grey, which our tester preferred of all the colour options.

The white metal frame is bulkier than more slimline bouncers like the Chad Valley Jungle Friends Bouncer, but it can still fit through doorways and our tester felt it was worth the extra space.

The fabrics are of good quality and the overall design of the bouncer will suit any style of home.

"Amazing to have a bouncer that converts to a safe-sleeping area so easily. When my daughter was a newborn, we often sat a soft liner in and she would lay on that and sleep happily. She also loved the songs and the little toys would keep her interest for a good while. Highly recommend!"

Is the Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper good value for money?

The newest version of this rocker currently retails at £99.99 which may seem pricey for a product that will only last for approximately six months.

But as the Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper can be used for short naps, you may not need to buy a Moses basket or bassinet for daytime sleeping.

When buying any product, it’s worth checking the resale price. Tiny Love Rocker Nappers can currently be resold for up to £69.

Final verdict

When our tester first tried this rocker she thought she wasn’t going to like it, especially considering the lengthy assembly time.

But with the Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper easily converting from a comfy baby seat to a cosy napper, with soothing music and vibrations and musical toys to entertain and aid development, she and her newborn ended up loving it.

We think it is a great rocker too, especially for newborns, which is why we've awarded it Best Baby Bouncer for a Newborn 2020.
