The TV tribes

Our new Essentials TV, Britain's lowest priced TV, broadband and calls package, brings amazing content and catch up functionality to more people due to its lower monthly price. With this in mind there has never been a better time for us to delve deeper into the nation's viewing habits.

We've worked with professor of television, Dr Helen Wheatley of the University of Warwick to create a report that explores family TV viewing habits across Britain today; what we watch, how we share our love of TV with others and the often impassioned responses that programmes prompt.

Based on the rich insights from the results we have drawn out eight TV viewer tribes, each with their own defined characteristics. From 'Me-Timers' who love box sets and hit American dramas to 'Family Guys' who enjoy nothing more than bringing the family together to enjoy their favourite show, it's clear to see to see that TV is at the heart of British homes.

We encourage everyone to take the TV Tribe quiz to find out what tribe you belong in and share with your friends and family.
