Grow a little love in your garden

It doesn't matter whether you were born with green fingers or not, it's easy to make the most of your outside space whether it's a window box, balcony, small patio or great expanse of lawn. We'll help you get the most out of your precious time by creating a space fit for chilling out, playing games or entertaining in the glorious British sunshine.

Weekend wonders

It doesn't take long to install decking and you'll be surprised how it instantly smartens up any space – creating a great area for kids to play as well as the ideal spot to entertain your friends with a BBQ.

Start by picking the perfect place and deciding on the size. Create a glorious suntrap or a shady corner – whatever suits your family. Next think about your wood – softwood is classic for decks but hardwood is more durable. You want your deck to last so treat and protect it with a good wood stain.

Then comes the fun part of decorating your decking with beautiful garden furniture, a parasol and flowering planters. Now, where did you put those deckchairs

What a difference a day makes

If you've only got a day to play with, why not spruce up your shed? Both tool sheds and summer houses will love a lick of paint. There's some great Cuprinol garden shades that make wood look fantastic, letting the natural grain show through.

30 minute makeover

One of the quickest pick-me-ups for a garden is a quick half hour of planting. Now the frosty weather is behind us, it's time to get bedding plants in flower beds, borders and containers. There, you've now got an instant hit of colour every time you look out of the window – what could be better? If only you could keep the kids from trampling them...
