" The tiny curtain comes up and all is hushed as our huddle focuses on Scrooge, adding, subtracting and sweeping a black quill across the page to understand exactly how much money he has. Scrooge's character delightfully mumbles to himself: 'carry one..then subtract..' it was ever so natural, this focused, serious Scrooge and I dare say hard working Londoners can relate to him very well indeed. Scrooge was spontaneous and vulnerable in his reactions; when the first spirit told him the journey in to his past would do him good Scrooge suggested that 'a good night's sleep' might do the same in such a timid way I almost wanted to tuck him up in his little bed!
….The ghosts of Christmas past, present and future were intricate and beautiful; the ghost of Christmas present wore a robe of purple and gold which he then lifted up to reveal the allegorical figures of ignorance and want under his skirt, quite a magical surprise!
…If you are looking for quite a different, special experience, take your inner child to the puppet barge and be engrossed by the tales the puppets tell."
