I am a qualified teacher offering home support services and intervention for young children with autism. I work with you, the parents, to create an individualised programme of support using strategies which work best for your child and your family. I can support with communication, challenging behaviour, routine, pre-academic skills, self-help and independence. My experience with autism began with the diagnosis of my younger brother when I was six years old. Growing up with a sibling with autism has given me an understanding of difficulties that families face and knowledge of what is important for a child's future. My teaching of children with autism at an SLD school was judged 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in 2013. I can offer regular home sessions, one off support by creating and advising on strategies which may be of value to your family or remote services by providing resources (eg. schedules, PECS books) for your family to use. My interest and speciality is early intervention with 0-5 years, although I do also enjoy and have experience of working with older children too. Please feel free to contact me for more information or to discuss your child's needs.
