Laughter yoga has many health benefits. It is a massive stress and anxiety buster, it increases levels of oxygen in the blood, increases circulation, develops core strength and re-energises the body. It releases feel good hormones in the blood which last up to 24 hours. Ten minutes of laughter is the same cardio vascular workout as thirty minutes on a rowing machine! Laughter yoga is a unique concept which allows anyone to laugh for no reason, without relying on jokes, humour or comedy.
The laughter is initiated through games and activities. It is called laughter yoga because it combines laughter exercises with deep yogic breathing. Deep diaphragmatic breathing increases levels of oxygen in the blood and makes one fitter, healthier and happier. The body cannot tell the difference between fake and real laughter, however, laughter is contagious and the fake laughter soon turns in to real spontaneous laughter.
This class is an exercise and wellbeing class and all are welcome. There is disabled access and we accept all size groups. No booking is needed, just turn up!
