An introduction to silk painting – beginners and more experienced artists are welcome to come along and experiment with colour, pattern and design (a 4 week course). Maybe you've already got some ideas you'd like to try out on a silk scarf, eg a pattern or flower you like? Learn how to paint onto silk using outliners, silk paints etc. These scarves also look lovely as wall hangings/hung in a window as the colours are so vibrant. I will provide a demonstration to show how it's done and then you can get started. I find that all participants soon pick it up,so come along and have a go!
The price includes use of silk paints and painting equipment, and one silk scarf 55 × 55cm to get you started. Refreshments: coffee/tea/biscuits provided.
The Bridge Arts Project is a new local initiative and aims: to provide arts-based courses for everyone, from beginners to more experienced artists; to provide a platform for local artists to share ideas and projects.I chose silk painting as the first workshop as it is pure pleasure, and also something you can continue at home once the course has finished-joy!
(The Sherriff Trust is very kindly providing support for the project to get started)
