Quarry Bank Mill is a historic cotton mill, pauper house, gardens and a 400 acre estate North West of Wilmslow in Cheshire.
The location for filming of Channel 4′s ‘The Mill’ period drama, the cotton Mill has a working water wheel and was built in 1784. Containing vintage steam engines, cotton processing and fabric making machines, with live demonstrations of the machinery in action and demonstrations of hand spinning and weaving, as practised prior to using machines. See how the workers lived with exhibits of their clothes, toys and recreated rooms. Other things to see in the mill include the offices and the privy.
