A pair of peregrine falcons has made NTU's Newton Building their nesting site for a number of years.

Nesting usually commences in February, with eggs laid in March, chicks hatching in April and fledging in June before departing in July.

Look up when in town, or follow them on NTU's static and mobile web-cams and blog: http://www.ntu.ac.uk/ecoweb/biodiversity/falcons

Note though that these are wild creatures; raptors red in beak and claw and, their breeding attempts are not always successful. There is usually a lot of fluff and cuteness but quite a bit of gore and sometimes sadness too. If you can stomach that, this is a great way to learn more about Nottingham's nature.
