The best of autumn 2017 in Merton for families

With the flurry of 'new school year' activity finally over and October half-term just around the corner, now's the perfect time to sit down with your diary and plan some autumn family days out.

We've put together a list of the best local happenings for all ages, from tots, tweens and teens, to keep you and your family busy right up to the end of November (we're remaining in denial about the C'h̶r̶i̶s̶t̶m̶a̶s̶ word for the time being).

It's an arty autumn in Wimbledon as Love Wimbledon's Autumn Arts weekends hit The Piazza in the town centre. Come along to these free events and enjoy a host of activities. The opening weekend is the 23-24 September and they're joined by Merton Arts Festival. Alongside their Arts Market this weekend, they will host many artist workshops, creative activities (including upcycling clothing, drawing classes and screen printing), unicorn decorating and headdress making among others!

From the 30 Sep – 1 Oct, explore the world of literary adventure and arts and crafts fun as BookFest joins us to celebrate 30 years of the much-loved Where's Wally books. We have a dedicated Where's Wally activities tent with fun-filled finding Wally games, word puzzles and colouring in. Wally and Wenda will even be there themselves to play and take photographs with you! Enjoy storytelling, singalongs, face painting and children's entertainment from Betty Boffin who will be doing live science experiments.
