The aim of Guiding:
“The aim of guiding is to help girls and young women develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their community and the wider world”.
The Guides spend time in their patrols (small groups) and have the opportunity to be responsible for the weekly programme and their part in it. They work on challenges and activities at the week meetings, the topics (which are called “Go-For-Its”) currently cover such themes as:
Healthy Eating, Environment Challenges, Fashion, Parties, Teamwork, Fitness, Crafts, Drama, Wider World, Communication.
How can people get involved? We welcome new guides, however we do have a waiting list and you are advised, if you are interested in joining, to telephone the Guide Leader to add your name to the list. This can be done in advance of your 10th birthday
